opertaions_2000.jpg (19985 bytes)It's a rule!   All desk have to be FIRE TRUCK RED.  Pictured here is the department's Operations Center.

tv.jpg (18167 bytes)This beautiful entertainment center was built from red oak lumber that was donated to our department by Storey Sawmill & Lumber Co., Inc.

tfd_kitchen_2000.jpg (11691 bytes)  Every good fire station needs a kitchen.  It's where a firemen needs to stay if he can't stand the heat!  This one has just a touch of red.
mako.jpg (21984 bytes)This is a MAKO 5,000 Psi compressor and fill station that is used to refill our SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) cylinders.  This system can refill a thirty (30) minute capacity air cylinder in approximately five (5) minutes.  The refill station (located on the right) can accommodate two (2) cylinders for refilling.  While the cylinders are being filled, they are housed underneath water inside a fragmentation shield to protect the operator in the event of a cylinder rupture.

This system was purchased in 1996 and cost $12,000.00, nearly $4,000.00 more than Engine 1 cost when it was purchased in 1951.  However, it's a mandatory tool to ensure the safety of today's firefighters!
