engine3_2000.jpg (27596 bytes)Currently considered the flag-ship of our fleet, Troy's Engine 3 is a 1996 E-ONE fire truck that was manufactured in Ocala, Florida.  It has a 1,250 GPM Hale single-stage mid-ship pump with a 1,000 gallon poly booster tank mounted on an International 4900 truck chassis powered by a 250 horse power DT-466 diesel engine with a 5-speed Allison automatic transmission and air brakes.  It's spacious 4-door cab is air-conditioned and the back jump-seats are equipped with three (3) Ranger ISI Magnum air packs which can be donned by firemen while responding to the fire.   Equipped with 650' of 5" hose, 1,200' of 3" hose, 600' of 1-1/2" hose, an array of Akron nozzles and a top-mounted deck gun, Engine 3 is well equipped to meet the demands of our town.  In addition to the jump-seat mounted air packs, five (5) additional Ranger ISI Magnum air packs are carried on this truck.  In total, eight (8) air packs and eight (8) spare cylinders are provided to ensure the safety of our firemen and our citizens.  Communications are provided via a 110 watt Motorola radio system with console capabilities at the driver position and the operator position.  This radio is programmed with all of the Obion County fire department's frequencies giving us the ability to communicate with them during mutual-aid responses.  To provide emergency lighting at fire scenes, Engine 3 is equipped with a 5,000 watt top-mounted electric start Honda emergency generator, two (2)   mounted telescoping  500 watt quartz lights, one (1) mounted 200' reel of electrical cord, one (1) portable 200' reel of electrical cord, two (2) 50' electrical cords, two (2) portable 500 watt quartz lights, one (1)  portable telescoping 1,000 watt quartz light.  In total, Engine 3 is equipped with 500' of electrical cord and 3,000 watts of emergency lighting.  Capable of cutting through steel and concrete is Engine 3's gasoline powered Partner Mark II  K-120 rescue saw.  This saw, augmented with Engine 3's gasoline powered Super Vac GX-120 smoke ejector is an invaluable fire suppressant tool.  To ensure  Engine 3's readiness, it's on-board E-ONE Super Smart Charging System constantly monitors the batteries keeping them charged to their maximum level at all times.  This system is powered by 110 volt current supplied by the electrical cord (shore-line) that is shown plugged in under the driver's door.
