eng1tank.jpg (22415 bytes)Here's a peak at what the inside of Engine 2's 500 gallon water tank looks like.  This picture was taken while we had the top off from the tank doing some maintenance to it.  Notice its construction!  It is construsted with baffles in both directions to ensure that the fire truck's load of water remains stable and does not move the truck around while it is being driven down the road.   Engine 2's tank is a steel tank and must be cleaned and repainted on the inside every few years.  Most of today's fire trucks utilize poly tanks which do not require any maintenance.
