Controlled Burn -- Town Square,
East SideApril 22, 2000 The Troy Fire Department, assisted by the Hornbeak Fire Department, performed a controlled burn on a 100 year-old two-story building located on the east side of Troy's beautiful town square. The night sky became a bright glow as this 100 year-old landmark building was reduced to a pile of rubble. With the exception of the ARP church, all of the buildings on the east side of
the square were attached to each other and shared their walls. Unfortunately, when
the J.S. Moffatt building burned on March 3, 1998 a chain-reaction was started that
eventually claimed every historic building on the town square's east side. |
